Hello and Welcome
By Chris Farris | June 18, 2006
My name is Chris Farris, and I have been appointed the Acting Chairman of the Republican Liberty Caucus of Georgia. As should be plain to anyone who follows what is happening in Washington and here in Atlanta, we need for an organization to promote the principles of limited government, free markets and individual liberty within the Republican Party. That is why I’m excited to be helping build the RLC and in turn the Republican Party.
I am relatively new to the Republican Party. Not too long ago, I was a member of the National Committee of the Libertarian Party and one of the leaders of the Libertarian Party of Georgia. I won’t bore you with the details of why I left, let’s just say that I have become convinced that the Republican Party offers the best hope for implementing the libertarian ideals of lower taxes, less government, free markets and individual liberty. In 2005, I switched to the Republican Party and joined the Republican Liberty Caucus.
We begin this election cycle with a database of over 200 members, a strong chapter in Gwinnett County and several other county chapters forming. We have a strong caucus of pro-liberty Republican legislators under the Gold Dome led by Senator David Shafer. We are soliciting Republican candidates to sign the Liberty Compact, and our endorsements committee is already reviewing candidates. We have plans to campaign hard this summer and fall for pro-liberty Republicans.
If you agree with President Regan that Government is not a solution to our problems, I hope that you will join us. Sign up for our email newsletter, join our discussion group at Yahoo Groups or get involved in a local chapter. To become a dues paying member, go to our website, www.gopliberty.org and click on the “Join Now” link. We promise to put your money to good use advancing the cause of liberty!
